— Unlucky experience of shopping glasses online
I received my redone glasses today. But the quality control let me down again. There is a scratch on one of the lenses. This is shocking workmanship. Both lenses have the numbers 200 on them with a little square just to outside of each lens. Both lenses have a little square on the inner side of lens near bridge. The frames are lovely no problem. I cannot accept these glasses, as they are substandard in quality.
I have had to wait almost 2 months now and still don’t have usable glasses. I was aware what the numbers were for. However in the first pair they sent, there is no such numbers on the lenses, they are clear. My old glasses don’t have this either, nor do my wife’s who also has progressive. I really don’t think their technicians are doing a great job as they got the first set wrong, the point of focus was wrongly aligned. So couldn’t have checked very well. This latest set has the numbers on it which I can see when looking at lights, etc. As to the scratch it is in my field of vision. I couldn’t take a photo of the scratch due to the cameras restrictions, and having to catch it in the light, therefore I would not be able to make a judgment as to whether it was in my field of vision or not. The parcel was not opened. And no I didn’t scratch them. I have worn glasses for 40 years now and in all that time have I have only scratched one lens by accident as a boy.
Now the new set I received has a very narrow field of view, which is worse than the first set they sent me. Even if the lens wasn’t scratched and had no numbers on it, they would still be unusable for me. All in all I’m not very happy.
1. I have had to take a frame that I didn’t like. (Second frame) If they were unable to make my prescription in the first frame I chose. I think I should have been notified beforehand.
2. I have had to wait almost 2 months for new glasses.
3. I’m nowhere near getting a resolution as when i started.
4. I feel i have been more than patient
So to stop any more problem I asked them for a full refund to my credit card.
I have sent back both pairs to them, and will not purchase any glasses from them again! This is a really bad experience.
